ICA,LIMA,TRUJILLO PERU

After Cusco we start to ride back to coast line.It was nice to come back from mountains.At Ica it was hot again.When we come to Ica ,we park our bikes at central squere and start to ask hotel from local people,one man come from restaurant and his name was Jose.He was bar owner.He said that after we have been at shower and rest a little bit ,come to bar and he can show us town.Thats what we did .He shows us many places also Laguna de Huachachina ,it is oasis at middle of sand dunes.Joses cousin owns big buggy .It is car they ride at dunes.Next day we take buggy ride too.We stops at dunes and try sand boarding too.Thanks for everything Jose.

After  Ica we ride to  Lima .Lima is capital city of Peru.We pick up new chains for Chris bike.

We ride little bit out from Lima and stay one night there.We found very strainge hotel.It was like straight from 40`s or something.Old man owns it.Feeling was from Shining movie.At evening we check out our room keys .We have single rooms and all the keys were the same!

After Lima we ride to Huarney.Road goes there between the
mountains.Mountains are dark brown

and there is some spots where wind has blown white soft sands .The mountains look like chocolate

In Trujillo ,we visited old Inca pyramids ,La Huaca de la Luna and La Huaca de la Sol.They are huge.

When you look at pictures they look like they are mountains but they are made of bricks.

After Trujillo we ride thro Sechura desert to Colan.There we have few days service brake for bikes and washing clothes etc.After that we ride to Tombes ,spend one night there and thenwe ride to Ecuador but that is another story.Stay strong ,Ana and Per

MATCHU PITCHU,CUSCO,PERU

When we were on our way to Cusco from Puno ,we meet Chris from Switzerland and joined our team.Road from Puno to Cusco goes up at Andie mountains plain.Good road ,landscape is much more green here.Cusco is old Inca capital.Not so much left thanks for spanish people.Around Cusco area is place called Sacred valley ,we make one day ride there.There is lot of old Inca places to visit.
When we go to Macthu Pitchu ,first we take mini bus from Cusco to Olantaytambo ,there we take train to Aguas Calientes and there we take bus to Machu Pichu.We were lucky because it was not turist season.At tourist season it might be that you have to wait 3 to 5 days before you can have tickets to train or tickets to Mathcu Pitchu.It is not so simple to go there.
Matchu Pitcu is old Inca town.They built it like 600 years ago.They built it up there because they want be close at their Gods.They worship Mother earth,stars,moon,thunder,rainbow etc.
Matchu Pitchu was place were important people lives ,politics and priest etc.It is incredible place to see.Check more from internet.

When we take ride to Sacred valley we visit Moray .It is old Inca agri cultural experiment center.

TITICACA LAKE ,PUNO ,PERU

After Arica,Chile we ride 20 km to Peru border line.It takes 3 hours for us at Peru custom.We were lucky that we meet one custom officer who speak english and help us.Thanks Jonathan!
It takes time because they have to put  all technical information about bikes to their computer system.
We also needed to buy some papers what we need at Peru custom  and where do sell these papers,local cafeteria!Little bit different back home.Any after that we start to ride to Puno.It is about 500 km.First 200 km was straight road.Then we take small brake and looked at map.We twere thinking that we have enough time to ride to Puno before dark but we were wrong.We start to climb up to the Andie mountains again.Landscape was beautiful.Good serpentine road but it takes more time than we expect.It start to be dark and start to rain and thunder too.We ride about 4800 high .We were lucky because rain and thunder stops.Rest of the ride we ride at moonlight to Puno.It was full moon and here full moon light is almost like rainy day at home.Moon is very bright.Finally we see lights of Puno and that makes us very happy.It is not so easy to ride high like that ,where they have no fences at road and it is almost 0 C cold.We found nice hotel from central ,then late dinner at local pizzeria where Amy Winehouse was singing at stereos and they serve Casterello del Diablo red wine
which is my old favorite and they make pizzas at open fire.What a great day once again!
Next day there was carneval at Puna.That was one big party.Lot of people dancing and singing.

Next day we  take ferry trip to Titicaca lake.Titicaca lake is at 3800 meters high at Andie mountains.

Titicaca means green puma.If you take Titicaca map and put it up side down you can see that shape of lake is like puma.Titicaca lake is between Peru and Bolivia.Bolivia side there is Isla del Sol and Isla del la Luna.Islands of moon and sun.Old Inca people belive that their gods was living there.We visited Isla Uros ,it is floating island were Inca people lives even today.After that we we visited Isla Taquile which is island were Inca people lives.Nice one day ferry trip.

They serve coca tea at hotel.It helps you alot when you are at 3800 meters

ROAD TO ATACAMA DESERT ,CHILE

After Chanaral we spend one night at Pan de Azucar.It is natural park.We did have a plan to go one island where is penguins but sea level was too low so boats couldnt come to beach.Next morning we start our ride and try to get short cut  but there was no road.Here in Chile they have lot of earthquakes and heavy raining.Sometimes there is no road.Atacama desert is worlds most driest place.Temperature was more than 43 C hot.There is also lot of sand in the air.
After 400 km ride we arrived to Antofagasta.Antofagasta is one of the biggest cities in Chile.

After Antofagasta we ride to San Pedro de Atacama.It is small town at Atacama desert.Around that town there is lot of to see.Salt lakes,gaysiers,hot springs,etc.At this area if you look to the sky at night time you can see millions and millions of stars.It is very clear sky here.We take a ride from San Pedro to direction of Argentina like 130 kilometers.There was 3 salt lakes where flamingos are living.You can also see lamas and alpacas there.Sorry vegetarians but lama and alpaca meat is very good too.When we ride back to San Pedro we were at 3000 meters high ,we saw one cloud with rainbow colours.Never seen anything like that.

After San Pedro we see Valle de Luna ,Valley of the moon.That is place where they have make many scifi movies.Landscape is like from moon or mars.After that we ride to Tocopilla, it is old mainers town.Next morning we ride from Tocopilla to Iquique.That is one of best roads I have ever ride.Left side was Pasific ocean and right side it was Andie mountains 250 km.

After Iquique we turn back to mountains .We ride to Arica .Road is high up on mountains,straight road .It goes at plain up there.That was first time we ride at sand storm.Heavy side wind and sand was everywhere .We see few small hurricanes too.Arica is nearby Peru border line.There was carneval at Arica .Town went totally crazy.They start to sing and dance 2 pm and stop 3 am and that continue hole weekend.One day we make road trip to Putre.Road between Arica and Putre is number 11.They call this road magnetic road.You cant use compass here.Local people also tell us that they have seen lot of UFOs here.
